Services Rendered
Robby Slaughter is available for consulting work in the
fields of usability,
software development,
process and methodology,
technical communication,
and
data architecture.
Projects and Opportunities
Often, clients ask: "Do you build websites? Write software? Fix
computers? Solve networking problems?" Absolutely, but that's
the easy part. In the same way that doctors can prescribe
drugs, architects can sketch blueprints, and automotive engineers can
change sparkplugs, I can conduct the actual
implementation to meet virtually any of your technical needs.
However, you will benefit most from the expertise during the
discovery, diagnosis, and planning phases. Almost
anyone can execute on an elegant, fully defined plan. Almost
no one can rescue a struggling, nebulous project from failure.
Call on Robby Slaughter when
you are ready to do things the
right way, no matter where you are in your project lifecycle.
Consulting Process
The approach used to help your business or organization consists of four simple phases: the
mutual assessment of the opportunity and the solution, execution of the key tasks to produce
physical deliverables, and finally your evaluation of the completed work. This loop
defines a circle of expections, in which the challenges you face and the results you need come together
in a useful, productive, and comprehensive process.
Adjacent steps allow both client and consultant to confirm that the current course of action
is optimal. During execution, additional assessment work may be needed or an in-progress deliverable
can be requested. During assessment, previous evaluations (even from other clients) can inform project
definition, and prototypes may be constructed (execution) to demonstrate feasibility or competence.
Finally, the seperation of steps ensures fairness and quality. One cannot accurately evaluate the quality
of a project while it is being done unless a deliverable is produced; nor should the evaluation be swayed
by last-minute changes. The cycle protects all parties and creates a framework for rapid progress
and mutual benefit.

upon the opportunity. For more information, please call or email.
A fixed fee of $1,500 covers all travel expenses to anywhere in the continental United States. Each
eight-hour work day at a remote site costs $1,000. Due to other client commitments through December 2007, no
